FIRST ON TREKZONE: Another Trek Writing Alumni Joins CBS As Consultant

In Kurtzman Helmed Trek, Lower Decks, Star Trek: Discovery, Star Trek: Picard

Acclaimed Trek writer Dayton Ward has just announced his involvement with CBS Global Franchise Management to coordinate various story and narrative tie ins pertaining to licensing partners.

The news comes four days after fellow writer David Mack announced he’s consulting on the new Lower Decks animated series and another – classified – series.

While Mack was reserved about any details in the post on his Facebook page, Ward elaborated about his role describing his contributions as being in the fields of writing and Trek knowledge. His portfolio includes keeping abreast of the current shows by liasing with writer and producer for Discovery and Picard Kristen Beyer.

Ward has written over 40 Trek books while Mack has 34 Trek books to his name and two television credits. Both are esteemed writers and it seems that John Van Citters is responsible for bringing these stalwarts into the fold.

Both gentlemen stopped by Trekzone last year to discuss their projects:
