As the truth of Lorca is revealed, his plans for a coup are put back on track and Burnham is thrust into a quick decision to save not only herself, but the U.S.S. Discovery too...
And herein lies the curse and the blessing of today's modern storytelling techniques, we've been building to this very moment for twelve episodes and it's been an odd ride.. I'm not leaping out of my skin to rewatch the series, but I've been excited to see where it goes.

And so we come to the thirteenth episode where the truth about our Captain is revealed, and he goes full on Terran. We see Burnham finally gain some drive and determination, she's been wronged and she'll be damned if she wont get retribution.

Meanwhile on Discovery, we see a glimmer of Gene's idealistic future as the crew resign themselves to a potential suicide mission to save the mycelial network - the greater good, and all that.
