Torres and Paris stumble upon a holonovel involving a Maquis mutiny, but when word begins to spread it's revealed it was intended to be a training scenario for junior security officers and it was never finished. When Paris and Tuvok try to finish the narrative, it's discovered Seska left a surprise for them and the program takes a whole new deadly direction...
This is a cracking episode that revisits the tensions of the first season - the same tensions that never were really fleshed out in the beginning... but none the less this was a great first ten minutes as you wonder whether this is really happening. The return of Martha Hackett as Seska was a really nice touch, and having her as the episode's villain was a fantastic nod to the past...
