The Flakes of Jupiter

Every Tuesday here on Trekzone, we bring you another installment of Talkin’ Science with astrophysicist, cosmologist and all round great guy Dr. Brad Tucker. Working for the Australian National University in Canberra, Brad takes the time to explain science in an exciting and easy-to-understand way on television, radio and in school presentations across this great southern land and it’s a real thrill to have him stop by each week to bring us the latest science and space news.

Today on the show, we chat about flakes reportedly observed tearing away from the Great Red Spot on Jupiter… not only that, but it looks like the centuries old storm is losing it’s puff and may eventually be consigned to the history books. Plus, a startup company here in Australia has secured an international rocket launch contract from NASA – it’ll be the first time the space agency will use a non-government owned facility to launch it’s rockets, four for now.
