NYCC: Star Trek: Picard – January Premiere, New Trailer
And the second panel, the most anticipated some might say, of Star Trek’s Saturday afternoon show was for the new Star Trek series as we check back in with our beloved Captain.
Patrick Stewart was adverse to the idea of returning at first according to Alex Kurtzman, but was persuaded by the ideas laid out for his character. Meanwhile, some details were revealed about the characters. Alison Pill mentioned how Picard’s mission is what her character “spent her entire life dreaming about.” Michelle Hurd noted how her character and Chris Rio share a unique strong bond, and that she couldn’t wait until fans discover it. The panel was covered off by showrunner Alex Kurtzman, actors Sir Patrick Stewart, Isa Briones, Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway and Australia’s Evan Evagora.
The trailer below confirms international markets will have the same release arrangement as Netflix – with Picard set to premiere in the rest of the world a day later. (Most likely available at midnight US PT.)
