Commander Data records a day in the life for Bruce Maddox – the robotics expert who tried to disassemble him two years ago. Two key events during this day are Chief O’Brien’s wedding and the mysterious death of a Vulcan ambassador…
I love this episode! We get a breakdown of what a day on the ship is like, and the little things become cannon (like the day watch lighting and shift changes etc.) Chief O’Brien gets much of the screen time as well, giving him some much needed character development (were they already planning Deep Space Nine?)
It was also great that Bruce Maddox was referenced again, after the season two episode when he wanted to dismantle him – and then Bruce almost got “custody” of Lal last season. The two now obviously have a working relationship now. (It also helped the story along…)
Are these the first appearances of Mot the barber and Spot the cat? And why is that other hairdresser using an engineering tool on that persons hair? Best scene of the episode? Has to be Data and Crusher dancing!
