The Trekzone Review
We’re almost at the half way mark of the first season, and it’s time to show the human side of the final frontier – civilian freighters running the shipping lanes… and what happens when you arm them with essentially a BB gun!
It’s about time Mayweather got some more dialogue than “Yes, sir” and it’s nice to see not all humans are morally upstanding. (Sure, I love Trek… but Ira Steven Behr got it right, in my opinion, with Deep Space Nine and “it’s not easy to be a saint in paradise.”)
This episode lays the foundations for next season’s Horizon which will explore the family relationships at play with our ‘boomer’ helmsman, and how things aren’t quite worked out yet amongst the civilian population as Starfleet begins to enter the picture deeper into space.
