Picard as a pre-teen… oh this is so much fun. We got to understand a little bit more about the Bajorans here too, in preparation for Deep Space Nine, I think that it helped to hit home about a whole generation of them don’t know what a ‘normal’ childhood is… that’s a pretty sad thing.
The Miles and Keiko interaction was just awkward while Picard eventually took to being a kid… I love that scene where young Picard runs into Riker’s arms screaming ‘DAD!’
