The tension! The excitement! That was one awesome battle sequence that had to be handled by two separate CGI companies at the time instead of the usual one-ship-at-a-time method that had been used on the Star Trek lot until now. And the result is some seriously action packed shots that you have to watch a few times to fully appreciate them all.
The most popular theory at the time, and in some circles still, is that the ending *SPOILERS* where the Dominion’s Gamma Quadrant fleet was destroyed, is a deus ex machina approach to the whole situation… but I agree with Ira Behr who said that it goes to the heart of the relationship between the Prophets and Sisko, we may not know what that means now but there is some pretty heavy stuff that will come up in season seven that will place some context to what the Prophets did here.
