While Enterprise fends off attacks from an alien vessel who won’t respond to hails, Hoshi is tasked with discovering Reed’s favourite food in time for his birthday…
The Trekzone Review
Another of the great episodes from the first season! An alien vessel who just attacks without warning or reason, it’s something we haven’t seen in Star Trek before and it was perfectly directed by the master of suspense Winrich Kolbe. My initial review on the Malcolm’s favourite food B-plot was one of disappointment, but with another viewing and a greater appreciation for character driven stories, it was a great diversion from all of the action taking place and provided some great character development for Hoshi and Reed.
We also see the beginnings of friendship between Sato and Phlox too as the pair try to work out another way to find out what our armory officer’s favourite food is.
Scott Bakula as Jonathan Archer
Jolene Blalock as T'Pol
Connor Trinneer as Charles Tucker III
Dominic Keating as Malcolm Reed
John Billingsley as Phlox
Anthony Montgomery as Travis Mayweather
Linda Park as Hoshi Sato
