The Drawn Line Part II : Trekzone Plays Star Trek Bridge Commander
Representing the Federation at a peace summit on Lya Station, the Sovereign must defeat a surprise Cardassian attack while diffusing
Keen to visit a Vulcan temple, Archer, Trip and T’Pol stumble into trouble with the Andorians who are trying to uncover a secret listening post…
One of the best eps of season one, a great mix of action and intrique. It also helps to further develop that these Vulcans aren’t the friendly and trustworthy Vulcans of Kirk or Picards day. Why is that? (just wait until season 4!)
The set design here is beautiful… while I’ve never been inside a monestary, I imagine it’d be something like this. The set designers have perfectly captured the Vulcan’s deep sense of spiritual belief, along with this generation of Vulcan’s secrecy and duplicity. On the acting front, Jeffrey Combs as Commander Shran, brilliant! He is a great actor who brings life to the character.
And finally as has been the tradition for too long on Trek, all is not well at the end of the episode…
