So long Kes, and thanks for all the fish. It’s been an interesting three years with this character, we’ve gotten to know her from when she was essentially a child and it’s been fun to watch her grow but I never really felt a deep connection to her character – I think that is one of the pitfalls of having nine full time cast members that are contractually obligated to be in most of the scenes across most of the series.
Nonetheless, Kes’ departure marks only the second time we’ve said goodbye to a main character, but we also welcome Seven of Nine and her transition to humanity is a long one that gets a lot more screen time then Kes could’ve ever hoped for.
