In a sign things are looking positive for the Star Trek franchise again, Alex Kurtzman and Patrick Stewart have announced the seventh spin off television series (and eighth companion show to the 1966 science fiction cult classic.)
Speaking at the Las Vegas convention, Stewart was coy on the title of the series, it’s release or any real meat on the bone. However he did confirm that he will be reprising the role he made famous across the seven years (and four movies) of The Next Generation. Stewart also told the audience in Vegas that Picard may not be a Captain, the years have changed him.
This will be the first time since 2001 that multiple Star Trek television series have been actively worked on at the same time.
More as it develops.
