Couple of interesting ones today, with Lightsail 2 embarking on an expedition of discovery to learn about solar photons – molecules that have no mass, but do have momentum. With each orbit of the Earth, the satellite is absorbing the photons, speeding up and gaining altitude. Meanwhile, the French Government has decided to join Trump’s way of thinking and are planning a space force to protect their national interests in space… and the entire planet just got ‘buzzed’ by a 100-metre wide asteroid, it passed within 70,000 km’s – which is closer than the moon!
