Space Law is essentially a treaty agreed upon back when the race to the moon was a hot button issue. Since then it’s sat on a shelf and largely been ignored. However, in today’s climate of private ventures to space, lunar and Martian colonisation on the horizon plus asteroid mining no longer a figment of science fiction imagination, experts have discovered that it’s struggling to keep pace with these changes. Experts like Dr Imogen Saunders are working to come up with a new framework before it’s needed.
