“Untitled Picard” Becomes “Star Trek Picard”

Say hello to Star Trek: Picard.

CBS announced today at the annual upfronts presentation the name and logo of the next Kurtzman Trek series… say hello Star Trek: Picard.

Produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment. The series has an extensive list of executive producers including Patrick Stewart himself, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry, of course Alex Kurtzman, Michael Chabon, Akiva Goldsman, James Duff and Trevor Roth. Aaron Baiers will serve as co-executive producer and Kirsten Beyer as supervising producer.

As widely reported on Tuesday, the series will stream on CBS All Access in the States and in more than 200 countries on Amazon Prime. Trekzone confirmed yesterday that 10 All Access – the Australian edition of the CBS SVOD service – will not have access to the show in a disappointing move by the eye.

Meanwhile, in a few minutes you’ll be able to catch Larry and I dissecting this series (and the DS9 documentary What We Left Behind) with today’s special podcast release.  We recorded that late last week, so you’ll hear us referring to the series as Untitled Picard and #PicardShow. Catch that podcast here.
