It’s been a two, almost three, year journey to get to this point and while we’re seeing investment in launch facilities across the country, Gilmour Space’s Abbott Point complex is owned and operated by the Gold Coast-based space business. And as we continue to ramp up our coverage of sovereign rocket launch capabilities we know that Australia’s prime position to polar and equatorial orbit is extremely advantageous, our vast coast line makes down range operations and our climate is more temperate and predictable than other locations around the world like Florida and French Guinea.

The license from the Space Agency and approval from the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water were the final and regulatory hurdle, but Gilmour Space have also been working closely with the traditional owners of the land since the beginning, with Eris 1’s mission patch designed by local artists.
