It’s a concept first postulated by Albert Einstein in his General Theory of Relativity over one hundred years ago, the existence of ‘gravitational waves’ produced by some of the most energetic and violent processes in the Universe. They are giant ripples in the fabric of space-time sent out by black holes and neutron stars.
Joining me over the next two weeks to discuss this and much more is Professor Tamara Davis, an astrophysicist at the University of Queensland who is actively studying this phenomenon.
