CBS’ recent upfronts brought us our first look at Star Trek: Discovery, the first new TV Trek since Enterprise went off the air in 2005. And boy was it a doozy, and hasn’t it divided the vocal component of fandom?
I think the Klingons, the ship design (inside and out) and the overal cinematic direction they’ve taken are all radical departures from what we have seen in this time period of the Star Trek universe (10 years before TOS) and even in the prime timeline with the TNG-era.
With that said, this is 2017 and it’s time to bring us new Trek… so, if we have to bend some creative licenses we should, because after all – it’s just a TV show!
